Spending time befriending strangers - But getting lost in foreign lands

Not everyone likes backpackers,
And young and noisy tourists
May find that they are preyed upon
By an old religious purist...
He'll tempt you in with guidebooks,
Filled with pictures of Japan -
He's the travelling pagan death-machine,
The Alan Whicker Man..
